Static Light is the name of my solo project formed in 2008 that is used to release all the music I write outside of Lifting Shadows. I occasionally collaborate with other musicians, though the vast majority of it is mine and I maintain complete control over it. The work is quite varied, falling under the genre “experimental rock”. Most of the material is instrumental, though I do an occasional vocal piece.
Two demos were briefly released under “Static Light” name, which I used for feedback. On February 8th, 2009 I released a single of the title track from the upcoming album, which is the first official release. It is available for free from Last.fm and what.CD, as well as streamable from MySpace.. I am currently working on a full length release, named “Watching Leaves Fall” which I am planning to release August 29th. I frequently write blog posts about this project, so check back often to hear the latest!
All songs by Static Light are released under an Attribution Non-Commercial Creative Commons license. Basically you can share the music with anyone and do anything you want with the music as long as it’s for non-commercial purposes and you do not claim it as your own. Read the legal text here.
